How our pricing works
Every stylist at Reverie sets their own pricing, so what you pay depends on who you see rather than on a salon-wide list. Our team spans a wide range of experience, and one flat number wouldn’t be fair in either direction.

There’s a difference. Expensive is paying more than the work is worth. Costly is what real craft requires — premium products, meticulous technique, and the time to get it right.
We don’t just color and cut hair. We paint and sculpt it, with every decision guided by years of refined skill and an artist’s eye. The result is color that moves naturally, texture that feels alive, and hair that stays beautiful far longer between visits.
That’s what you’re paying for. We think your hair deserves it.

Custom-formulated balayage, foil work, gloss, and color correction. Every lightening service finishes with a toner to dial in the exact shade.
Balayage
Hand-painted, freehand highlights for soft, dimensional, low-maintenance color that grows out beautifully — no harsh regrowth line. Our most-requested service.
Priced by stylist, partial (face frame and top sections) or full. Choose your stylist when you book to see their pricing. Final pricing also depends on length, density, and how much lift we’re going for; a finishing toner is added to every lightening service.

A premium hand-painted color technique that uses a hair dryer to blow away shorter, finer baby hairs before painting — so only the strongest, most evenly-distributed strands receive lightener. The result is exceptionally soft dimension, the most natural-looking grow-out of any color service we offer, and finished color that moves like real sun-lightening rather than salon work.
Refined into its current form by Sal Misseri and the Kaizen Education team. Performed at Reverie by Sal and his longtime protégé Marissa White — the two specialists trained on the Kaizen-refined protocol.
Priced by stylist — Sal and Marissa each set their own price for Air Touch, and you’ll see it when you choose them at booking. Plan for a longer appointment than a standard balayage — the technique requires it.

Traditional foil highlights for maximum brightness, precision placement, or gray blending. Partial focuses around the face and the top of the head; full covers the whole head. Babylights are very fine, closely woven highlights that mimic natural sun-lightening.

All-Over Hair Color
Single-process color for uniform coverage, dramatic change, or refreshing existing tone. Vibrancy, depth, and gray coverage in one step.

Softening the root so your natural grey reads as intentional rather than a line you are managing. For hair that is not on permanent colour — if you have been covering your roots, what you want is The Grey Transition below.

Fixing box-dye buildup, banding, brassiness, uneven tone, and over-processed hair. One of our core specialties — we see more correction work than almost any salon in Chicago. Most corrections require an in-person consultation to assess the hair and build a realistic plan.

Long-wear frizz elimination and softness, applied by stylists trained in keratin technique.
Keratin Smoothing Treatment
Deep frizz elimination and smoothing that lasts 3–6 months. Best for thick, coarse, or very frizzy hair where you want a strong, long-wearing result. Cuts blow-dry time in half and makes hair more humidity-resistant. Applied to clean, dry hair; aftercare instructions provided. We also offer a Keratin Blowout from $200 and Color Lock Keratin from $150.

Hair Extensions
Length, density, or both. Multiple methods so we match the right one to your hair type, scalp sensitivity, and lifestyle — not the other way around.
Hand-Tied, Tape-In, Micro-Link & Keratin Fusion
Each method has a different installation and maintenance schedule. Hand-tied for most clients; tape-ins for finer hair; keratin bonds for the most natural movement. All extensions are color-matched and installed in-house by our team. Installation starts at $300 plus the cost of the hair, which is quoted at your $35 consultation; move-ups and removals each start at $150.

Wedding Day & Bridal Party
We book trials 4–8 weeks before the wedding, then come to you on the day — hotel, venue, wherever you’re getting ready. Bridesmaids, mothers, and flower girls are all available. Peak season (May–October) books out months in advance.

A deeply relaxing hair-and-scalp ritual: warm water, a long massage, and professional-grade products your stylist chooses for your hair.
Head Spa with blowdry
A multi-step hair and scalp treatment with a long massage, exfoliation, and treatments your stylist picks by eye for what your hair wants that day. Seventy-five minutes, finished with a blowdry. Mostly you book it because it feels wonderful.
The Head Spa is a standalone 75-minute service and is $200 — the same price with every stylist who offers it. Separately, two shorter hair and scalp treatments can be added on to a haircut or color appointment: Essential Hair Treatment $30 · Luxury Hair & Scalp Ritual $50. Those two are add-ons only and cannot be booked on their own.

Four professional lines on our shelf, each carried for a different job — and every one of them is something we actually reach for during a service.
- Davines — the color line at our bowl, and the shampoo, conditioner and styling we finish you with. If your stylist wrote a product down for you after an appointment, it usually came from here.
- Milbon — Japanese professional care. We reach for it on the smoothing and anti-frizz side, and for fine hair that other lines flatten.
- K18 — bond repair. It goes on between lightening phases and after a correction, and the leave-in mask is the one we send home with you.
- Cult + King — the texture and scalp end of the shelf: tonics, sprays and balms for finishes that need grip rather than shine.

Pricing questions
How much is a haircut at Reverie?
There is no single haircut price at Reverie, because every stylist here sets their own. What you pay depends on which stylist you book and your hair length — so the honest answer is that it depends on who is holding the shears.
When you book online you’ll see your stylist’s price before you confirm, so you always know the number before you commit to a time. If you’re not sure who to book, find your stylist and we’ll point you to the right person.
How much is a head spa at Reverie?
Head Spa with blowdry is $200. It is a standalone 75-minute service that includes a blowdry, and it is $200 with every stylist who offers it. The $30 and $50 hair and scalp treatments are add-ons to a haircut or color appointment — they are not a way to book the head spa.
Ready to book?
Consultations are $50 for 15 minutes, or $150 for 30 minutes with Sal; extension consultations are $35. Every consultation fee is credited in full toward any service or product at Reverie within 30 days. The consultation inside a booked appointment is always included at no charge.
