Meet Maria Korinek — Reverie's Bridal Lead

Maria Korinek is the stylist Chicago's most discerning brides trust with their most important day. As Reverie's dedicated Bridal & Wedding Hair Specialist, Maria leads the wedding program with years of independent bridal experience, recognition from the PBA Beacon Awards, and a Behind the Chair Hot Shot Award nomination — two of the most respected honors in the professional hair industry.

What sets Maria apart is the calm, reassuring confidence she brings to wedding mornings. Brides arrive with a thousand small anxieties — the veil won't sit right, the weather might turn, Aunt Susan is already crying — and within minutes Maria has defused all of it. She listens, adjusts, reassures, and gets to work building a style that looks like you on the best morning of your life.

Maria's specialties are the styles 2026 brides actually want: soft textured updos, low chignons with wispy tendrils, modern half-ups, polished Hollywood waves, veil-friendly crowns, and natural-texture styling that photographs beautifully from every angle. She also coordinates the full bridal party — bridesmaids, mothers, flower girls — with one cohesive vision. Meet Maria →

Bridal Hair Trends for 2026 — What's In, What's Out

Bridal hair in 2026 is moving decisively away from the stiff, sprayed-to-oblivion updo and toward modern, editorial, touch-real styling.

In for 2026:

  • Effortless low chignons and soft textured buns — at the nape, romantic, with loose tendrils framing the face.
  • Tousled, modernized Hollywood waves — swept to one side, soft S-curve, high shine.
  • Modern romantic half-ups — a twisted or braided crown with length flowing loose.
  • Veil-friendly architecture — styles designed from the start to hold a veil and look beautiful the moment it comes off.
  • Celebrated natural texture — curly and wavy brides leaning into real hair instead of flat-ironing it into submission.
  • Minimal, considered hair pieces — gold pins, pearl clusters, delicate chains, single botanical clips.
  • Photography-ready dimensional color — hand-painted, so it catches light instead of reading flat.

Out for 2026: stiff, helmeted updos locked in with industrial hairspray; giant statement pieces that fight the veil; flat single-tone blonde that loses its life under flash; over-tight sleek buns that pull the face severe in photos; dated crimped/over-textured "beachy" waves.

Bridal Services at Reverie Salon

Reverie offers the full wedding-day program, under one roof, with one trusted team.

Bridal Hair Trial

A full-length creative session 4 to 8 weeks before the wedding — not a rushed 30-minute preview. Your stylist designs, tests, refines, and photographs the look from every angle so you walk out with a clear reference for the wedding day itself. We factor in your dress, veil, headpiece, venue, and photography style. You'll know exactly how you'll look — and feel excited about it.

Wedding-Day Styling

Your stylist arrives (or welcomes you to the salon) with the plan prepped, backup supplies packed, and timing built in. The style is recreated from your trial with any adjustments you requested after the fact. Timing buffers are a rule, not a luxury.

Bridesmaid & Bridal Party Bookings

We style the full party — bridesmaids, maid of honor, whoever is on the morning schedule — to a cohesive, elevated aesthetic. Each person's look complements the overall vision while suiting her features and hair type.

Mother-of-the-Bride & Mother-of-the-Groom Styling

Elegant, age-flattering styling for the mothers of the wedding party. A thoughtful, unhurried service for the women whose photos will matter just as much as yours.

Pre-Wedding Color: Balayage, Gloss & Dimension

Schedule color 1 to 2 weeks before the wedding for the freshest, most camera-ready result. Bridal balayage, Davines gloss treatments, and dimensional custom color — designed specifically for how it photographs under natural and flash lighting. Balayage program →.

Hair Extensions for Brides

If your vision calls for length or volume you don't currently have, our extension specialists fit, color-match, and blend hand-tied, tape-in, or fusion extensions well before the wedding. Extension program →.

Salon-Based & On-Location Styling

Most brides come to the Reverie studio — calm, controlled, beautifully lit, steps from River North venues and hotels. On-location services are available subject to travel fees based on distance.

Rehearsal Dinner & Event Styling

Rehearsal dinners, engagement parties, bridal showers, and bachelorette events — so you look intentional from the first event to the last.

The Reverie Bridal Process — From Consult to Last Dance

1. Initial Consultation

In person or virtual — a real conversation about your vision. Bring inspiration photos, details about your dress (especially the neckline and back), and your veil or accessories. We talk through your hair type, face shape, venue, and photography plan, and quote a clear, transparent price up front.

2. The Trial (4 to 8 Weeks Out)

A full creative session — not a preview. We work through one to three looks until we land on the one that makes you feel extraordinary. Every angle is photographed for a shared reference on the morning-of. No surprises.

3. Pre-Wedding Color (1 to 2 Weeks Out)

If you color, this is when we time it — fresh enough to photograph beautifully, rested enough to settle. Balayage, gloss, and dimension designed for flash, natural light, dress, and venue.

4. Wedding Day

Your stylist arrives with the exact plan from your trial, plus backup supplies for anything the day throws at us — humidity, wind, tears of joy, a rebellious veil. Timing buffers are built in. We stay until every member of the party is camera-ready.

5. Travel & On-Location Logistics

On-location bookings are coordinated ahead of time — parking, power outlets, lighting, timing with photographers and planners. We arrive early and treat every getting-ready room like a studio.

6. Pricing — Transparent, Not a Guessing Game

A complete, written quote is provided at consultation covering trial, wedding-day styling, travel if applicable, party members, and any color work. No surprise charges at checkout, ever.

Book 6 to 12 months ahead for peak dates. May through October weekends are the first to go.

Why Chicago Brides Choose Reverie for Their Wedding Day

Editorial-grade artistry at the top. Sal Misseri's global editorial experience means the team understands how hair photographs — not just how it looks in the mirror. Your style reads beautifully from every angle, in every light.

A dedicated bridal specialist leading the program. Maria isn't a stylist who also takes weddings on the side. Bridal is her program, her focus, her craft.

Every bride designed for individually — on wedding prep and always. Your bridal session is unhurried and considered, built around your face shape, gown, vision, and how the look needs to hold across the day. Your stylist's focus is on designing a look that's yours alone — from prep through party. That matters ten times more on a wedding morning.

Davines-exclusive products that hold style without a brittle hairspray feel. Finishing products that hold without the crunchy, shellacked texture of cheap hairspray. Your hair photographs with movement, shine, and life — and still stands at last dance.

Pre-wedding color under the same roof. Balayage, gloss, dimension — timed and formulated for photography. You don't have to find a separate colorist.

Works seamlessly with extensions. Already wearing hand-tied, tape-in, or fusion extensions? Our stylists style around them with care — and can add or remove volume specifically for the wedding.

4.9/5 on Yelp across 189+ reviews. Brides consistently rate Reverie as a highlight of their wedding experience — built one morning at a time by the whole team.

Davines — Our Exclusive Bridal Product Partner

Every product Reverie uses on your wedding day is Davines — a B-Corp certified, plant-based, sustainable Italian brand built for real performance. Davines styling and finishing products are engineered to hold soft, modern textures without the stiff, crunchy finish of conventional drugstore hairspray. That's exactly what bridal styling in 2026 demands: hair that moves, photographs with life, and still looks intentional at midnight.

Our colorists also trust Davines color exclusively for pre-wedding services. Rich, accurate tones. Minimal impact on hair integrity. Finishes that read beautifully on camera under both natural light and flash.

Current limited-time promo (April & May 2026): Free 50ml Davines Renaissance Circle Mask with any Davines order, while supplies last — an ideal pre-wedding strength-and-shine treatment.

Frequently Asked Questions

How far in advance should I book my bridal hair at Reverie?

Secure your wedding date as early as possible — peak dates (May through October) fill 6 to 12 months in advance. Trials are booked 4 to 8 weeks before the wedding. If you're within 3 months of your date, call (312) 955-0083 (or text us at (312) 276-7575) and we'll do everything we can to fit you in.

Do you do full bridal trial runs?

Yes — and a real one. Your trial is a full-length creative session, not a 20-minute preview. We design, test, refine, and photograph every angle so you and your stylist have a shared reference for the morning-of. You leave knowing exactly how you'll look.

Do you travel to wedding venues for on-location styling?

Yes. We can come to your venue, hotel getting-ready suite, or family home on the wedding morning. On-location styling is subject to availability and travel fees based on distance. Most River North, Gold Coast, Streeterville, West Loop, and downtown weddings are easy; suburban and North-Shore locations are scoped during consultation.

Can my whole bridal party come to Reverie for hair?

Absolutely — bridesmaids, maid of honor, mothers of the bride and groom, and flower girls. We style the entire party to a cohesive aesthetic while giving each person a look that suits her individual features and hair type. Party minimums and timing are confirmed at consultation.

How much does bridal hair cost at Reverie?

Pricing varies based on the trial, wedding-day styling, the number of people in your party, and whether on-location services or pre-wedding color are included. You'll receive a complete, transparent written quote at your consultation — no surprise charges at checkout. We recommend booking your consultation early so pricing is locked in when peak dates disappear.

My hair is very curly (or very fine, or very thick) — is that a problem?

Not at all. Our team includes stylists who specialize in natural texture, fine hair, and dense hair. At consultation we assess texture, density, and condition and design a plan that works with your hair. If extensions would help with volume or length, we'll tell you honestly.

Should I color my hair before the wedding, and when?

Yes — we highly recommend it. Schedule color 1 to 2 weeks before the wedding for the freshest, most camera-ready result. Balayage and Davines gloss treatments are our most popular pre-wedding services; they're formulated and timed specifically for how the color will read under natural light and flash.

How does Reverie handle humidity, wind, and outdoor weddings?

Every wedding-day style is built with venue and weather in mind — techniques and Davines finishing products chosen to hold through humidity, wind, and long outdoor ceremonies without the brittle hairspray feel. Your stylist brings backup supplies and is prepared for touch-ups.

Your wedding deserves Chicago's best — and Maria is ready to lead the morning.
