Salon Policies

These are the policies we run Reverie Salon by, written out plainly so there are no surprises. If anything here doesn't fit your situation, text us at (773) 378-9288 — we handle genuine emergencies case by case.

Cancellations and rescheduling

Our schedule fills weeks in advance, and last-minute cancellations — especially on color and chemical work, where the time and the product are reserved for you — leave a chair we can't refill.

• Color and chemical services (color, highlights, balayage, keratin, extensions, perms): 48 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule.
• Haircuts and blowouts: 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule.

Cancellations or reschedules made with less notice than that are charged 50% of the scheduled service price. No-shows are charged 100%.

A confirmation text is a reminder, not a cancellation — you have to reach us directly to cancel. If a card on file is declined or disputed after a missed appointment, we can't rebook you until the missed appointment is settled.

Card on file

A card on file is required to book. It is only charged if you cancel late, no-show, or if you choose to pay with it at checkout. We never store card numbers ourselves — they are held by our booking platform's payment processor.

Running late

If you arrive more than 15 minutes late, we may need to shorten or reschedule your service so the guests after you aren't pushed back. We will always try to complete the full service first. Please text us if you're stuck — we'd rather know.

How our pricing works

Every artist at Reverie sets their own prices, based on demand and how far along they are in their career. That means one menu can't show one number. What we publish is the starting price — the lowest price any bookable artist charges for that service. Your artist's exact price is shown on their page and confirmed at booking, before anything is charged.

Starting prices at Reverie Salon, River North:

• Haircut — from $95 (medium length; short from $100, long from $110)
• Blowdry — from $70
• Root touch-up — from $70
• Toner — $75
• Gray blending — from $165
• Partial dimensional color (foil or balayage) — from $160
• All-over color — from $170
• Full dimensional color — from $215
• Airtouch — from $265
• Hand-tied extension installation — from $300, plus the cost of the hair; move-ups from $150
• Keratin smoothing treatment — from $500
• The Grey Transition (2–5 sessions, with Sal Misseri) — from $600

We price haircuts by length only — short, medium, or long. We do not charge different prices for men and women.

Color is charged by what it actually takes. Lightener and toner are weighed by the gram, so a client with fine, shoulder-length hair isn't subsidising a client with dense hair to the waist. That's why a quote is confirmed at the chair rather than guessed online.

Consultations

A consultation is required before color correction, hair extensions, and The Grey Transition. It's how we look at your hair in daylight, test its condition, and give you a real number instead of an optimistic one.

The Reverie Consult is $50, or $150 with Sal Misseri. The fee is credited toward your service or a retail purchase within 30 days. Hair extension consultations are $35.

If you're not happy with your hair

Tell us within 7 days and your artist will book you back to adjust the work at no charge. This covers refining what the two of you agreed at your consultation. Changing direction after the fact — deciding you'd rather be blonde after all — is a new service, and we'll quote it as one.

We would always rather hear from you than read it in a review we can't answer.

Retail returns

Bring anything back within 30 days. Unopened product is refunded to your original payment method. Opened product is exchanged or issued as salon credit — if the shampoo isn't right for your hair, we'd rather swap it than have it sit under your sink.

Shipping

Orders over $125 ship free within the Continental United States. Orders are packed at the salon in River North and typically go out within one to two business days.

Children and guests

The salon is a small, quiet room. We're glad to have you bring a guest, but we can't supervise children who aren't being serviced, and chemical services in particular need the chair area clear. If you need to bring a child along, text us first and we'll find the right time slot.

Gratuity

Gratuity is never expected and always appreciated. It can be added at checkout by card or left in cash.
