Hair Salon in River North, Chicago

If you live or work in River North, Reverie is your neighborhood salon — literally. We're on Grand Avenue between Franklin and Orleans, a couple blocks from the Merchandise Mart and an easy walk from East Bank Club, the gallery district, and most of the high-rises along Kingsbury and Wells. A lot of our regulars don't commute to us at all; they walk over from the gym, from the Mart, or from their building lobby. That's the salon I wanted to build: rooted in this neighborhood, good enough that people from every other neighborhood make the trip anyway.

I'm Sal Misseri, the owner. I've spent over twenty years in this craft — competition floors, editorial sets, and salon chairs — and along the way my work has been recognized 17 times at NAHA, the industry's biggest stage. Reverie is where all of that lands: a team I trained myself through Kaizen Education, working exclusively with Davines, holding a 4.8/5 on Google across 250+ reviews from your actual neighbors.

What we do

Color, above all. Hand-painted balayage is the service we've built our name on — dimensional, lived-in, designed to grow out without a line. We do precision haircuts built around how you actually live, and color correction for the projects that need a real specialist. And because not everything we do is hair: our in-house esthetics room offers facials with our licensed esthetician — a favorite add-on for clients who'd rather handle everything in one building.

Getting here (it's easy — you're already here)

We're at 300 W Grand Avenue, Suite 5, Chicago, IL 60654 — on Grand between Franklin and Orleans. Walking from the Merchandise Mart or East Bank Club takes a few minutes. The Grand Red Line stop is nearby, and the Mart's Brown Line station covers the other direction. Driving in from elsewhere in the neighborhood? Street parking on Grand and Franklin, plus several parking garages within a few blocks.

Hours: Tue–Thu 12–8, Fri 10–7, Sat 9–4. The evening hours are deliberate — plenty of River North clients come straight from the office.
