I created the Bespoke Renewal Cut because I kept seeing the same thing: clients coming in for a haircut and leaving with a shape that worked for about two weeks before it lost its structure. The problem wasn't the stylist's skill — it was the approach. Most cuts are designed for how hair looks wet in the chair, not for how it behaves three weeks later when you're styling it yourself.

The Bespoke Renewal Cut is my answer to that. It's a longer appointment, a deeper consultation, a scalp reset, and a cutting technique built around how your specific hair grows, moves, and falls. This isn't a trim. It's the cut where your hair finally makes sense.

What's Inside the 90 Minutes

The Bespoke Renewal Cut is built as five distinct parts. Each is intentional. Together they're the reason this cut behaves differently — and lasts longer — than a standard 45-minute appointment.

1. The deep consultation (15 min)

This is the part that decides everything else. Your stylist asks about your hair history, how you actually style at home (or whether you do), what's frustrated you about past cuts, what your hair does when you let it air-dry, and the cuts you've loved and hated. We look at growth patterns, density, your natural part, your face shape, and your daily reality. No rush, no template — diagnostic work that shapes every cutting decision.

2. Davines Naturaltech scalp treatment (15 min)

A targeted scalp ritual using Davines Naturaltech — the brand's professional clinical line built around specific concerns (calming, balancing, replenishing, energizing). Your stylist picks the protocol matched to your scalp's current state. The treatment removes buildup, balances pH, stimulates circulation, and resets the foundation the cut sits on. Healthy scalp = healthier hair growth between visits.

3. The precision cut (45 min)

The cut itself, built from scratch for your hair. Weight distribution, interior layering, perimeter line, and movement — every element is calibrated against the diagnostic from your consultation. Techniques drawn from the same precision standard I teach internationally through Kaizen Education: point cutting, slide cutting, scissor-over-comb, clipper-over-comb, and dry refinement as needed.

4. Custom blow-dry and finish (10 min)

The finishing style isn't decorative — it's part of the cut. We dry-refine after the wet cut, which lets us see where the hair actually falls and refine the shape against how it behaves dry rather than wet. The finish is built to be replicable at home with whatever tools you already own.

5. The styling walkthrough (5 min)

Before you leave, your stylist shows you exactly how to recreate the look — which products, which techniques, which tools (or no tools), and how much time it should actually take. We send you home with the specific Davines products that fit your cut and routine. No upselling — the recommendations are honest and short.

Pricing — Length-Based, Not Gender-Based

One note on how we price. Reverie has been gender-neutral on cut pricing for about 15 years — we were one of the first Chicago salons to switch. We believe hair is like a fabric: the more there is to work with, the more time and skill the cut takes. So we price by length, not by gender. A man with long hair pays the long-cut rate; a woman with a pixie pays the short-cut rate. It's a values position as much as a pricing one.

What to Expect at Your First Appointment

Before

Bring two or three reference photos of cuts you like and one or two of cuts you specifically don't want. Reference images tell your stylist more in 60 seconds than 20 minutes of conversation. Come with clean, dry, unstyled hair so we can see how it behaves naturally.

The session itself

Plan on 90 minutes. There's espresso, Wi-Fi, outlets at every chair if you need to work. The session is unhurried by design — no rushed transitions between steps, no clock-watching, no stylist running between three chairs to make hourly productivity numbers.

After

Most clients return every 8 to 10 weeks for a maintenance Bespoke Renewal Cut or a shorter precision cut. Your stylist will set a cadence with you at the appointment so you don't have to figure it out alone.
