Awards

North American Hairstyling Awards (NAHA)

NAHA is the most prestigious competition in the North American hair industry. Sal Misseri holds 17 NAHA recognitions across multiple categories.

  • Newcomer of the Year — Winner, 2012. The award that put Reverie on the national map and opened the door to international education and editorial work.
  • Hairstylist of the Year — 3× Finalist. The overall category, judged against the best in every discipline rather than a single specialty.
  • Additional recognitions across cutting, colour, men's hairstyling and editorial. The range is what makes the record unusual — recognition in every major category is rare.

Other recognition

  • Estetica's It List — Top 25. Named one of North America's 25 most influential stylists.
  • International Visionary Award — London, 2016. Recognised internationally for creative vision and technical innovation.
  • Behind the Chair One Shot Award — nominee. Peer-nominated recognition in one of the industry's largest professional communities.

Published work

Editorial and campaign work from Reverie has appeared in Vogue, Allure, Modern Salon, American Salon, Estetica, Behind the Chair, Bangstyle, and in Davines international campaigns across three continents.

Runway

Backstage at New York Fashion Week for Christian Siriano, Porsche Design, Kimberly Ovitz, Behnaz Sarafpour and Ann Yee.

Runway teaches things salon work alone doesn't — speed, adaptability, and how to translate a creative director's idea into something that reads as effortless on camera. That perspective comes back to the chair.

Education and stage work

As a Davines Global Artist — one of a small group chosen worldwide to represent the brand through advanced education — Sal has taught master classes in the United Kingdom, Ireland, France, Italy, Germany, Japan, South Africa, Canada and across the United States.

Between 2016 and 2020, Davines tasked him with supporting new product launches — principally The Century of Light bleaching system and bringing the View line up to global-launch standard — and he trained the Davines North American colour education team several times a year across all colour technical abilities, with a particular focus on foiling and balayage.

He is also the founder of Kaizen Education, the professional development platform every artist at Reverie trains through. The name comes from the Japanese principle of continuous improvement: you never stop getting better, however long you've been doing this.
