What a gloss actually does

A gloss (also called a toner or demi-permanent color) deposits a sheer layer of pigment on top of your existing color. It doesn’t lift or lighten — it enhances. Think of it like a filter for your hair. It smooths the cuticle, neutralizes unwanted tones, and adds depth and richness that fades naturally over 4–6 weeks.

For blondes, a gloss kills brassiness and brings back the cool or warm tone you left the salon with. For brunettes, it adds richness and dimension that single-process color can lose over time. For redheads, it refreshes vibrancy without re-committing to permanent color.

When to get one

Between balayage appointments when your tone is drifting. After a vacation when sun and salt water have faded your color. Before a big event when you want your hair to look its best without doing a full service. As a standalone appointment when your color is fine but your shine isn’t.
